Ohana means Family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.
These words speak so much volume for this family! I’ve had the honor and privilege of really getting to know them the past year and can honestly say they are one of the sweetest most loving families out there. In the world we live in today, it takes special people to help balance out the good with all the crazy and bad that seems to be broadcast daily. That is exactly what this story is about. The good.
The Wood family has had Danni in their home almost 2 years when they received the opportunity to make her part of their forever family. Being a Foster Parent, you just never know what tomorrow is going to bring. The good, the bad, the ugly….. foster parents see it all. We see the children that were abused, whether is was physically or mentally…. or most of the time both. We see the neglect, the heart-ache, the scared little eyes that are being thrown from one person to another. We see it all. Then sometimes, out of the blue, we see hope. We see that if we love a child, “just enough”, that everything will be “ok”.
This family has seen their fair share of ups and downs when it comes to Foster care. They’ve had the pleasure of having several children in their home that they’ve gotten to love on and hold tight, and assure that tomorrow is going to be better. And “tomorrow” just became real! The Wood family just grew by 2 hands, and 2 precious little feet!!!!!!!
Having the joy of getting to know all of them, I’ve seen how much love they have to give Miss Danni Leigh, and I don’t think there is a better “forever family” out there for her! She will be loved, cherished, and most definitely spoiled for the rest of her life with this family.
I’m so honored that you asked me to come photograph this special day for you! I wouldn’t have missed it for the world!!
